“Conversano, a town 200 meters above sea level, at the time of the One-eyed Man of Puglia.” (Stefania)

In the 16th century in Conversano, resided a vicious man, Lord Giangirolamo, also known as the Guercio. A figure whose actions ignited a storm of gossips that echoed throughout the centuries. Fast forward to the 21st century, this stories have evolved into tales passed down through generations. Enter three women, each one carrying their own version of the Guercio.

“When I was little, to keep me calm, my mom used to tell me the story of the Guercio.” (Maria)

Maria stills remembers the bedtime story from when she was young. Not just her, Stefania also recalls this story, but in a different way. And when asked, Maria Antonietta remind us that maybe not everything we hear is true. Tales of Conversano tells a story of true events inspired by not so true events.
